DIY bridesmaid gifts

DIY bridesmaid gifts

When you're planning a wedding, you make sure everything is just as it should be, from the menu to the venue, and so it's no wonder you take your time to select your bridesmaids and to assure they are happy with the bridesmaid dresses you choose for them. And since your bridesmaids work hard to make your big day happen, putting in time, coming up with ideas and going places with you or for you, it's only right that you show your appreciation with some great bridesmaid gifts. Before you buy anything, though, consider making the gifts, as that will be much more touching and will show your bridesmaids how important they are to you.
If you don't believe yourself to have any manual skills, don't worry, because there are plenty of DIY bridesmaid gift ideas you can get inspired by, plus there are some semi DIY projects that anybody can handle. A great thing to make is a personalized bubble bath. Yes, you can make it at home all by yourself with distilled water, liquid glycerin, castile soap and essential oils, s get pretty bottles and get mixing, using your friends' favorite fragrances to personalize each gift. For girls who like to play with their fashion, you can make adorable hair accessories with a glue gun and colorful trinkets. Simply apply beads, silk flowers or other ornaments to ready made head bands or hair pins and you're done. And if you really are a proud owner of two left hands, consider putting together a lovely bridesmaid survival kit, with some band aids and pain killers, safety pins and tape, and each bridesmaid's favorite candy in a personalized little bag. It may not be done by you, but at least it will be put together by you with each bridesmaid in mind.
If you're a handy bride-to-be, let your strengths give you an idea for perfect DIY bridesmaid gifts. As an excellent baker you can put together lovely layered cookies in a jar and wrap a chain with a pendant instead of a ribbon around it. If you're an artist at heart, customizing some jewelry shouldn't be a problem, and neither should be preparing beautiful hand made photo albums and sticking a picture of you and the specific bridesmaid in each. If sewing has no secrets for you, a great relaxing kit should be no problem, simply make a bag, a kimono-inspired robe and eye mask for each bridesmaid, putting their names and initials on the items in individually picked colors. Home made candles, soaps or preserves are also a lovely touch and will be appreciated, especially if you address each girls' personal taste, and since it takes time, your friends will know how much you invested in making the gifts for tem with your own hands.
As long as you have an idea, buying gifts for your bridesmaids is easy. You just go to the store or online and you're done. And the bridesmaids will love their store bought gifts, there is no question about it. But if you take the time to make the bridesmaid gifts, you put a bit of yourself in each of them, and so they have a much higher sentimental value to your friends, not to mention showing your bridesmaids that you took the time out of your busy wedding planning schedule to show them your appreciation for all the help they've been throughout the process.
